Elton Brand sign to Dallas Mavericks!
Elton Brand has signed with the Dallas Mavericks after being released bythePhiladelphia 76ers, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports' AdrianWojnarowski.
The 76ers recently exercised the amnesty clause on Brand, allowing themto release him without his salary counting against their cap.
A 6-9, 250-pound forward, the 33-year-old Brand is a two-time All-Star who has averaged 18.3 points and 9.4 rebounds over his career.
Brand, however, hasn't played in an All-Star Game since 2006, and his average dropped to a career-low 11 points per game last season.
The Chicago Bulls made Brand the first overall pick out of Duke in 1999. His best season was 2005-06, when he made second-team All-NBA after averaging a career-best 24.7 points and 10.0 rebounds.
Brand averaged a double-double his first five seasons in the league, but only once in the last 10 years.
Dallas recently signed center Chris Kaman to a one-year deal.
